Overview

Ms Bonnie Leung, Professor of Practice at The University of Hong Kong, currently serves as Programme Director for the university’s Master of Family Wealth Management programme. As the Founding Programme Director, she oversaw the launch and execution of the programme. Her teaching commitments include current trends in family office management, and sustainable investing and philanthropy in the context of family wealth. 

Ms Leung brings decades of industry experience to the FWM programme. She previously held various COO positions at BlackRock, one of the world’s largest asset management firms, including serving as their COO for APAC Client Business. As COO, Ms Leung sat on BlackRock’s Global Financial Crime Country Risk Committee, Global Funds Distributor Oversight Committee, APAC Investment Oversight Committee, and APAC Risks & Controls Committee. Subsequently, Ms Leung became a founding member of their Asia Pacific sustainable investing team, leading the Asia ex Japan Sustainable & Transition Solutions business. In this role, she frequently spoke at large-scale webinars and events in Chinese and English, representing BlackRock’s views on sustainable investing, and thus furthering investors’ understanding of sustainable investments

Prior to BlackRock, Ms Leung was a management consultant at McKinsey & Company, serving financial institution clients, both MNC and Asian-based companies. She also led professional development for the Hong Kong office.  Ms Leung started her professional career as an architect and practised in the New York-based firm, Kohn Pedersen Fox. 

Ms Leung is a graduate of the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, where she received an MBA. For her undergraduate studies, Ms Leung obtained a B.Arch and a B.Sc.(Arch) from McGill University.
