Governance

Overview

The Institute is one of the independent research units at The University of Hong Kong. Administratively it reports directly to the Vice-Chancellor’s Office. The Director consults the Vice-President and Pro-Vice-Chancellor (Research) on major development issues of the Institute.

The Executive Committee

At the core of the Institute’s governance is an Executive Committee. Members are senior academics and professionals positioned in Hong Kong, China and overseas. It meets bi-annually to review the mission of the Institute, endorse programme proposals and budgets, and discuss its institutional development.

The Advisory Board

An Advisory Board comprised of members from diverse disciplines and institutions worldwide provides a valuable layer of expertise and global perspective. The Institute regularly consults individual advisors to inform and develop programs, drawing on their specialized knowledge to enhance and tailor its initiatives.
