DESCRIPTION:Table of Contents \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Abstract \n \n \n \n \n To some\, family offices — private organizations established by wealthy families to manage and oversee their wealth — seem shrouded in mystery. In the latest edition of the HKU Family Wealth Lecture Series\, we will explore the role of non-family professionals within family offices. Join us for an engaging public lecture with Bill Stacey\, a seasoned investment counsellor who has worked with many family offices. With extensive experience across Asia\, Australia\, and global markets\, Bill offers invaluable insights into the world of family offices and investment strategy. He will also discuss the challenges of constructing and implementing investment strategies in today’s uncertain environment\, addressing issues like innovation\, inflation\, and government intervention. The session will also touch upon Hong Kong’s position as a hub for family offices and the critical role of philanthropy within family investment teams. For students\, educators\, and industry practitioners alike\, this lecture offers a rare glimpse into working for a family office from a seasoned investment expert. \n \n \n \n About the Speaker \n \n \n \n Bill Stacey is an investment counsellor working with funds and family offices.  He was Chief Investment Officer of the Hinrich Foundation.
